On day 16 of our Vietnam trip we flew from Hanoi to Phu Quoc – a little paradise island in the gulf of Thailand. If you’re looking for white sandy beaches, palm trees and turquoise/blue waters then Phu Quoc is the place for you. There’s not much to do on the island apart from relaxing, swimming and enjoying some tasty seafood and fish.
We spent the last night of our trip in one of the eco-friendly bungalows in the Mango Bay Resort. The bungalow was spacious, clean and had an outdoor bathroom – something we’ve never stayed in before.
Because the resort is eco-friendly there is no fancy air conditioning in the room but they provide you with a fan which does help a little during the tropical nights. We arrived at around 9am in the resort and were pleasantly surprised to be treated to a fantastic breakfast (best we had in all Vietnam) and spent the day relaxing on one of the beaches, swimming and strolling around the resort. We ate our last dinner in the resort accompanied by some really nice fruity and not too boozy cocktails.
Phu Quoc marked the end of a beautiful trip for us and completed it perfectly. Relaxation was just what we needed after an exciting two week trip through Vietnam.
